Good Solid game, nice to see a medieval game with no faries or dragons in it for a change
I am going to have to give this Mount & Blade game a go... I keep seeing people playing it. I am always up for gaming exploration! :)
It the game play that rocks, graphis are a bit dated but still good, there are a hell of a lot of mods for it too, but the basic game is still fine, just don't get the cheat codes and overlook the repetative quests and the game shines. Vaegir and Swadian Knights ftw
I seem to have a really hard time finding quests. Am I missing something? I did one quest the entire time I played last night. Built my party up to 25 people and had fun taking down raiders and such... but how do I get involved in the war?
Well there are several ways when starting out most usually just try and build thier own army right off but if you start doing quests for a particular lord, you may want to find out who his King is and do quests for him since the game is factional based you have to find a friendly faction and start doing work for them, if you actually go to the castles and meet face to face you can get quests, or you can meet other lords in the field and ask them if they need help, either way in time once you've built up a good amount of faction they will either offer you a paying job as a merc captain, or if you've done enough work for them then you can swear alligence to fight the kings enemies as a full blown lord with estates yourself, you should always join tournaments for the presitge and honor, try never to lose a battle on the field or a castle because all this determines the number of men you can have in your army. you can of course go rogue knight and try and pay, feed, train, and amass men without swearing your sword too however I find it hard to do, if you win enough glory and honor in battle you can be elected to become the high marshal of your king and lead crusades by calling other lords to your standard, I count myself as a great siege master and warlord as I have been elected by unanimous vote more then 12 times in a row while i've played the game and have commanded over 200 knights and lead crusades of up to 10 lords and thier men however feeding and paying 200 knights requires you to own many castles and capitals plus thier estates and collect taxes on all of them.
